A major reconstruction project of a production building is underway in Neveronys, Martinava street, Kaunas district. The aim of the project is to optimise the production processes in the food industry and to ensure the smooth and efficient functionality of the production, administrative and warehouse areas.
The works are being carried out in three phases
The industrial building on the site, built in 2004, is currently used intensively for the production of chocolate and chocolate products. The total area of the existing building is 1533,56 m². The project involves the expansion of the production areas, the construction of new administrative and domestic premises and the modernisation of the site’s infrastructure.
The first phase consists of the extension of the production building, the second phase consists of the construction of the administrative part, and the third phase consists of the construction of car parks, new engineering networks and a fire protection water reservoir.
Functional layout and a clear vision for the development
The building being renovated is classified as a special building, which means it has higher safety and quality requirements due to its specific use, the complexity of its structures and the nature of its production process. The structure is of frame construction, with metal columns and rigid connections to ensure the stability of the structure. The gabled roof with a pitch of 11° provides functionality and structural stability. Additional facilities such as asphalted parking areas, new roads and storage facilities are also being designed to improve logistics and the convenience of daily processes.
Modern production – from raw material to packaged product
The company produces chocolate as a raw material, which is then used to make a variety of sweets and chocolates. The renovation will include the installation of additional packaging lines and the extension of storage areas. After the reconstruction works, the planned production volume could reach up to 1 000 tonnes per year.
Project participants and implementation
The project is being developed by UAB Meškėnas, the technical design was prepared by UAB Merkevičius ir partneriai, and the architectural design was prepared by architect Ramunė Dambrauskienė. The design work is carried out in two stages – technical and detailed design. The construction works are planned in phases, taking into account the specifics of the production process and the infrastructure solutions of the territory.
